Love and Friendship in the Nuclear Age
Würde man nach Epochalem suchen, so könnte der pathologische Kleingeist dies in der Ordnung finden, welche die Kunstgeschichte immer wieder für ihn herstellt.
Dort wird seziert, kastriert und in Karteien gezwängt was den Menschen aus der Seele schreit.
Der Titel „Love and Friendship in the Nuclear Age“ setzt sich mit der Erklärungsnot auseinender, in die die Kunst immer wieder gerät, wenn sie auf die Frage trifft inwieweit sie sich den Herausforderungen unserer Gesellschaft stellt - den philosophischen, ästhetischen und politischen.
Es wird zu oft verlangt, dass die Kunst Dinge löst, die die Gesellschaft als ganzes nicht in die Hand nehmen will. Das bringt die oft sehr sensiblen Gebilde der Künstler in die Verlegenheit, einen ersatzreligiösen Plazeboeffekt herbeiführen zu sollen.
Der Titel verspricht Epochales und doch zeigt er nur ganz seltsam demokratisch woran einige Künstler permanent arbeiten: Die Auseinandersetzung mit sich selbst und der eigenen Weltwahrnehmung und demnach das tun was eine pluralistische und interkulturelle „Epoche“ auszeichnet.
Liebe und Freundschaft im nuklearen Zeitalter liegt jenseits der selbstgefälligen Pseudodemokratien dieser Welt und ihrer Selbsterklärungsversuche sowie jenseits der Zwänge, welche die Masse, durch sich selbst und ihre kollektiven Angstgebilde, auf Individuen ausübt.
Der Ausstellungstitel ist eine weitläufige Assoziation zu Pablo Nerudas Feststellung „In den Zeiten der Pest gedeiht die Liebe.“
Durch verschiedene Ebenen medialer Auseinandersetzung wird mit Phänomenen der globalisierten Weltgesellschaft gespielt. Dies durch die mitwirkenden Künstler und ihrem konzentrierten bisweilen subversiven Unterton aber vor allem der Konsequenz mit der jeder der mitwirkenden geistig und emotional bei sich selbst ist.Duration:
Love and Frienship in the Nuclear Age, löst sich – so hoffe ich - durch sich auf, weil die Ausstellung den Bogen zwischen Weltwahrnehmung, Poesie und kritischem Verstand spannt.
